The 5th saw us leave Punakaiki ( it was so nice to camp for 2 days in the same place, and chill) and drive through the Buller river canyon (it does some name ….. Pass, but I cannae remember). Again we passed through some LOTR locations but it was pretty misty and drizzly and it didn’t look so good for the sky-divers. However, we drove into Motueka, the skies cleared and the sky-divers had an awesome time. I must do that some time, just not this trip. The heli-hike took care of that! We didn’t stay here, we drove onto Kaiteriteri and finally stopped in Marahau.

We stayed here for a couple of nights, though if you count up what I’ve posted, I’m sure that doesn’t add up.

On the edge of Abel Tasman, we explored this lovely lovely place. My only gripe is that it doesn’t have any wild animals. I went sea kayaking, and loved it. We were in serious chop, and I was drenched, and still grinning. Unfortunately a couple of people didn’t enjoy it as much as me and we had to turn around, have an early lunch and head back to base :o(
